UEFA face Euro riddle - The Sun

Under the new plans, one or both of those clubs might not seal a CL group stage place by also finishing in the top three in the league.

That would see England have up to FIVE sides with a claim on a Champions League place — not to mention a qualifying spot for the team in fourth.

Who would get priority — the Europa finalists or the Premier League high-fliers? Or would all five go to the group stage?

Top-flight chiefs in England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France would be wary of some of their big clubs missing out on the usual reward for a high league placing.

But smaller countries would tell UEFA chief Michel Platini the superpowers should not have up to SIX representatives in the group stage.
