Samsung & Chelsea FC to Offer Free Football Coaching for Kids ...

Samsung Home Appliances today announced the launch of Free Kicks For Kids, a nationwide campaign starting on Saturday 6 April 2013 that aims to get over 16,000 youngsters in the UK playing football.

Parents will be able to register boys and girls aged from six to 13 to take part in free, hour-long coaching sessions with top coaches from the Chelsea FC Foundation. Selected Goals Soccer Centres will host the Free Kicks For Kids fitness and skills sessions every Saturday from April 6 to November 30 2013. The young players involved in each of the hour-long sessions will be divided into four age groups – six to seven, eight to nine, 10 to 11 and 12 to 13.

As principle sponsor to Chelsea Football Club for the last eight years Samsung share the Chelsea Foundation's belief in supplying sporting opportunities for all.  Robert King, Vice President of Consumer Electronics, Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, said: "To build on our partnership with the Chelsea Foundation, and after the success of Samsung's London 2012 campaign, Free Kicks For Kids will continue Samsung's Olympic Games legacy by promoting sport and a healthy way of life to the younger generation.

"Football is such a huge part of our culture in the UK and as sponsors of Chelsea Football Club, we are excited to be able to offer children in the UK the chance to be trained by Chelsea coaches with our Free Kicks For Kids programme."

Simon Taylor, Head of the Chelsea Foundation, said: "The Chelsea Foundation has built a strong relationship with Samsung since the charity was founded in 2010. We have joined forces with the club's principle sponsor for a number of projects across Asia, Africa and North America and are now looking forward to working alongside them in the UK."

Samsung Home Appliances will create a relaxed waiting area at each of the weekend events, packed with its latest products, where parents will be able to watch their children taking part in the football sessions. Products will include the G-Series fridge-freezer which has been cleverly designed with thinner insulation so you can fit more food inside.  Also on show will be the Samsung ecobubble washing machine which produces special bubbles that dissolve faster and deeper into your clothes, so they come out cleaner while washing in cold water – perfect for your little goalscorers.

The Free Kicks For Kids roadshow starts on Saturday April 6. The full schedule and details about how to register a child for a free coaching session are available at www.facebook.com/ samsungfootball.
