Calderon comments Mourinho failed at Actual Madrid - Goal. com.

That 61-year-old, who held office at the Bernabeu between 2006 and 2009, says the manager's record with the club was not the only real factor, insisting his actions was poor

Mourinho's departure was launched by current President Florentino Perez in a press conference on Sunday, with the 50-year-old mutually tallying to sever his ties along with the club when the 2012-13 season goes to a close after four years in charge.

The former Inter, Chelsea and Porto coach was able to acquire just one Copa del Rey, one Liga title plus the Spanish Supercup, while also failing in his search for La Decima - what may have been the club's 10 Champions League title, and Calderon believes Mourinho was never a good fit for Madrid. "Of course he has become a failure, " Calderon advised Sky Sports' Revista De La Liga. "It is the most detrimental record of any Real Madrid manager who has had three years or more there.

"I insist that it is not only that reasons. I think you may be unsuccessful at a club for many reasons. What I really don't like and what many followers of Real Madrid aren't keen on is the way bigger behaved.

"I don't know what he did in Britain but his behaviour in Spain wasn't best with Real Madrid's history. We have an integral part of our hymn which tells 'when we lose, people shake hands' - everyone don't poke fingers around eyes, which is everything that he did to Tito Vilanova.

"I have always claimed that he wasn't on your own to blame - that's also into the people who brought him to Real This town.

Why We want to See Mark Hunt Earn a Title Shot using a Win over Junior Dos Santos.

24 months ago, the prospect of observing hard-hitting heavyweights Mark Look and former UFC champ Junior dos Santos lock horns within the Octagon seemed like a good far-fetched proposition.

Hunt had just snapped a six-fight losing skid along with his first win in the UFC, while "Cigano, " was riding an impressive seven-fight winning streak of which included five victories via knockout in the UFC.

But the once down-and-out Find has evolved radically within the last two years, revitalizing together with ultimately transforming his volatile career with four directly wins.

His good fortune has landed him with an advantageous position that small number of envisioned him leveraging two years ago.

Hunt will square off with Cigano on Saturday within the co-main event of UFC 160 for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Sin city. UFC president Dana White colored has deemed the attack a de facto heavyweight concept eliminator.

Since rendering Chris Tuchscherer unconscious at UFC 127 for his first win with the company, Hunt's reeled off notable wins over Tom Rothwell (unanimous decision), Cheick Kongo (TKO) and additionally Stefan Struve (TKO).

Hunt broke Struve's jaw with a vicious leaping left hook inside third round of their enthralling fight at UFC upon Fuel TV 8 that will help his popularity reach new heights. The win also garnered him "Knockout of the Night" honors and catapulted "The Superb Samoan" to No. 9 relating to the UFC's heavyweight rankings.

Find, who decisioned the likes of Wanderlei Silva and additionally Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic within Japan's Pride Fighting Titles, had already built a good loyal allegiance of supporters before joining the UFC.

By using one-punch knockout power, sound technical striking chops and a jaw of steel, The Super Samoan represents this prototypical fighter that spectators of walks of life are able to pull for.

Hunt also sports your Rocky-like persona that spawned when he began training after being discovered in the street fight outside a nightclub in Auckland, New Zealand.

Not only will The Super Samoan routinely invite a violent, back-and-forth brand of stand-up brawl, he also opposes most different types of ground fighting—unless of course he's inside of a dominant spot to strike within the top position.

If Hunt can pursue to develop a defensive grappling ability, then The Super Samoan may realistically threaten the UFC's heavyweight band, regardless of who's positioning it.

First, however, Hunt must pass the man that various considered indestructible before her last bout against champion Cain Velasquez at UFC 155.

Before getting brutalized along with dropping a unanimous decision to Velasquez in their rematch, Dos Santos terrorized your UFC's heavyweight division profitable nine straight fights, seven by way of knockout.

Cigano's dynamic expertise has influenced the oddsmakers to deem him a significant favorite to best Find. In fact, Bovada. com has named Dos Santos a 4. 5-to-1 favorite (-450) so that you can prevail at UFC one hundred sixty.

He may not carry the oddsmakers' blessings, but that never finished Hunt from pulling off an upset over a seemingly unbeatable opponent in the past.

One thing's certain, then again; as long as Hunt is constantly on the live the life to a head-hunter, The Super Samoan will have always a large contingency from fans behind him—win or lose.

Seattle Seahawks Running Back Breakdown: Evaluation and Depth Chart Analysis

When it comes to the running back position, the Seattle Seahawks have one of the best groups in the NFL. Granted, running back can be a position that has some extreme ups and downs. If a star running back goes down, it can drastically change the effectiveness of the offense.

The emergence of Russell Wilson as an effective quarterback has certainly given the Seahawks more options on offense, but this is still a running team. You could even argue that Wilson's running ability gives them another ground option out of the backfield.

Assuming that players stay healthy, Seattle should remain one of the most dangerous running teams in the NFL. The Seahawks averaged 161.2 yards in 2012, which was good for third in the league.

Get ready for another season of Beast Mode. Marshawn Lynch remains one of the top backs in the NFL, and the Seahawks are likely to depend on their tough running back yet again in 2013. After all, he still has one of the best runs in NFL history, and it is hard to get tired of seeing it.

Adding Christine Michael may help share the load and change the way that the Seahawks use their running backs. However, look for Lynch to be the starter and featured back for the foreseeable future.

The drafting of Michael does not mean that the Lynch era is coming to an end. If anything, Marshawn Lynch may be in his prime for the next season or two. However, NFL running backs can have short careers, and declines can happen very quickly.

Robert Turbin was a solid back in 2012, and he may play a similar role in the 2013 season. What is unclear is what the long-term plan is for the second-year running back.

Adding Christine Michael will almost certainly cost Turbin some touches, though Michael will still have to prove that he can be an effective NFL running back. Turbin did survive his rookie campaign, so he may be all the more effective in 2013 with a year under his belt.

It is fair to suggest that the selection of Michael was a surprising pick in the second round since the fans and experts probably expected the Seahawks to go in a different direction in the NFL draft. However, Pete Carroll and John Schneider have been anything but predictable in the last couple of years.

Michael is a talented player, so the potential is definitely there. However, he did have some issues in college. In addition, how do you use a rookie with notable ability when Marshawn Lynch is your established starter?

It will be interesting to see how Michael performs in training camp and the preseason. This may give a clue as to his role in the regular season. Depth is great in certain positions, but you also want particular players to get into a flow.

Obviously the stat line for a fullback is never going to be particularly impressive from a numerical standpoint. However, football fans know that the fullback is not necessarily supposed to rack up the numbers.

If anything, the numbers of Marshawn Lynch say something about the effectiveness of the fullback. In that regard, Michael Robinson continues to be an excellent blocker and a guy who can break off the occasional run to keep the defense honest.

It seems reasonable to assume that Robinson will remain the guy who sets the table for Marshawn Lynch in 2013. The job isn't glamorous, but it is vitally important.

The Seahawks thought enough of Spencer Ware to select him in the sixth round of the NFL draft. Whether he can make the team is an entirely different issue.

Overall, the LSU running back has the ability to contribute at fullback, but there just may not be a roster spot for him. The same could be said for Derrick Coleman, who is also currently on the roster.

Both Ware and Coleman will probably have to put on some excellent performances if they are going to make the deep team.

Rob Gronkowski Injury: Potential Back Surgery Casts Further Doubtfulness on TE's Future.

Innovative England Patriots superstar snug end Rob Gronkowski comes with battled through injuries that can have ultimately cost his team two Super Toilet bowl trophies.

Now that he may be undergoing back surgery to mend a disc problem, a 24-year-old's NFL future looks like as fragile as truly. Mike Garafolo of the united states Today reported on Friday that Gronkowski underwent an MRI to test a disc issue in his back stemming out of last season.

Back last season, Gronkowski had to find a different disc shaved off and missed his person year at Arizona. That dropped him to your second round of the NFL draft the place that the Pats gladly took her and watched him blossom in a dynamic playmaker.

This latest revelation showed some other damaged disc, but Garafolo reports that hope is, if surgery is, the recovery period will be within the same time frame as next week's forearm system. If it is recommended to operate, Gronkowski will have got both.

ESPN's Adam Schefter was told using a source that the back issue is thought to be minor, and someone else all around Gronkowski said it should never affect him long-term:

The most concerning part about that last quote will be the implication that Gronkowski himself isn't focused on the short-term.

Far be it with me to criticize learn how to manage oneself in the glaring limelight to be a marquee NFL gamer and the scrutiny that accompany it. Gronkowski is free to do what he wants from the field, but she's been forthcoming about their tendency to party tricky.

Gronkowski was there to watch after his brother, Glenn, inside Wildcats' spring football game, but this image, and the like, surfaced from shotofginn. com:

These are know about short-term decisions that Gronkowski may be making headlines with of late. Whether it's fair or not is definitely entirely different matter, but, again, it comes while using territory of being so willingly inside the public eye.

In instances where Gronkowski's wild antics outside of the white lines aren't the midst of the discussion, it's his recurring sample of physical ailments which come up. Regardless of what is causing Gronkowski to struggle staying over the field, the two cannot be mutually exclusive any extended.

It's refreshing to see Gronkowski show his lesser side, but that willing vulnerability off the field may be what's affecting his durability upon it.

Another reason to feel concerned short-term: Chances to get the Lombardi Trophy are not guaranteed. Who knows how much longer legendary quarterback Tom Brady is going to be slinging spirals Gronkowski's manner?

Plus, the Miami Dolphins' revived roster presents the Patriots which includes a legitimate challenge in that AFC East division.

NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE Network's Albert Breer made available his take, alluding on the six-year, $54 million deal Gronkowski signed last offseason, which is looking as being a wiser decision by your day:

Perhaps Gronkowski is best suited though—perhaps he shouldn't worry. There is plenty of one's to recover, and good work he put in to build the massive, 6'6", 265-pound shape he sports, it would appear he has the chops and work ethic to get back to full strength.

Should he continue being sidelined, though, and if this minute back disc problem is nastier than initially thought, fears will linger about Gronkowski's fast and long-term NFL upcoming.

Here's to hoping Gronkowski does what he needs to do to get your partner's health right. Seeing a Gronk Spike again has to be pleasant sight.

It's some celebration that perfectly encapsulates every thing about him. It captures the traditional, relative non-flash of this Patriots, the immense strength Gronkowski himself possesses along with the passion and unbridled enthusiasm he seems to be bring to every facet of his life.

If Gronkowski should bring that attitude to his rehabilitation while using the detailed focus he practices to be a member of the Patriots, his extremely promising career incorporates a far better chance to obtain back on track.

Walsh: Spurs can hold out over Bale - Football.co.uk

Tottenham should not be bullied into selling Gareth Bale this summer even if they receive a huge offer from Real Madrid, according to former striker Paul Walsh.

Bale has attracted the attention of Real, Barcelona, and a host of other sides after firing in 28 goals for club and country this season. Walsh thinks chairman Daniel Levy could play hard-ball in his attempt to keep Bale just as he did with Luka Modric, who was made to stay despite his attempt to push through a move to Chelsea, although he eventually left for Real Madrid.

"He has three years left on his contract so Tottenham are in a position where they can say, 'You're not going anywhere. We are going to keep you'," said Walsh, who was speaking at a Football Pools event.

"Daniel Levy has been quite hard-nosed on a couple of other occasions in the past so I don't think Tottenham are just going to roll over. He didn't let Modric go that summer and that might be what they have to do with Bale."

Bale, who is odds-on favourite to be crowned PFA Player of the Year on Sunday, once again showed his worth last weekend when he helped inspire Spurs to a stunning comeback against Manchester City.

The Londoners went behind to Samir Nasri's goal, but Bale played in Clint Dempsey to equalise and then scored Tottenham's third after Jermain Defoe had put Spurs 2-1 ahead. City were in control for most of the game but the three-goal salvo turned the contest on its head in a matter of minutes.

Still fifth in the table, Spurs cannot afford to take their foot off the accelerator in their last five games, but Walsh admits the manner of the win over last year's champions will give Andre Villas-Boas' squad a big psychological boost ahead of a tough run in.

"They will say 'We won't give up because we know we can turn it around'. Because they have done it against Manchester City, it will be in the memory bank for when they need it and they will need to be strong mentality in the business end of the season.

Report: Norwich City defender agrees terms with Wanderers, has history with Bolton

With a young striker and young fullback already brought in, Dougie Freedman is set to continue his summer signing spree. A report out of the Bolton News suggests that the manager has found his Marcos Alonso replacement in 27-year-old Norwich City defender Marc Tierney. Per the same report, it seems that Tierney has already agreed terms with Bolton Wanderers and will officially sign on when his contract expires.

The 27-year-old left-footed left back had played for Oldham Athletic, Shrewsbury Town, and Colchester United before signing for Norwich City in January, 2011. At that point, the Canaries were a Championship side, having been promoted from League One the year before, well on their way to finishing runners up in the division and an eventual Premier League spot.

Over the last two-and-a-half seasons, Tierney made 39 appearances for the Canaries in all competitions but was largely on the outside looking in during the now-finished 2012/13 campaign. He managed only one league appearance, four League Cup appearances, and one FA Cup appearance over the season. In 2011/12, he had established himself as Norwich's first-choice left back but a severe groin injury (and subsequent surgery) curtailed his progress in the team and, following a nine-month-long layoff, he found himself second choice to Javier Garido.

As commenter thingymajig pointed out below, Bolton Wanderers fans do have some experience with Tierney. It was his soft reaction to Ivan Klasnic that saw the Wanderers striker see red in Bolton's 1-2 2011 loss to the Canaries at the Reebok.

Fulham bystanders describe moment emergency British Airways flight flew over ... - Fulham Chronicle

WORRIED bystanders in Fulham have told of an 'almighty noise' when a stricken British Airways plane with smoke billowing from an engine flew over the borough on its way to making an emergency landing at Heathrow this morning.

The airbus A319 was on a flight out of Heathrow to Oslo, Norway, when, about 10 minutes after the 8.20am take-off, problems developed as the aircraft was flying over north-west London.

After declaring emergency, the pilots decided to return to Heathrow and flew over central London, suffering issues with one, and possibly both, engines.

A witness who lives near Stamford Bridge told Sky News: "All of a sudden we heard this almighty noise. It was like a fire jet going over. We could just see the right engine on fire - it was absolutely horrendous to see.

Rob Brownell, 33, saw the plane from Imperial Wharf Overground station, and told the BBC: "There was this almighty rumbling overhead - I looked up and saw the plane on fire. There were flames coming not just from the engine but lapping the wing.

"My initial thought was 'my God this thing is going to blow up'. The wings are full of fuel so I couldn't see how there could not be an explosion.

All 75 passengers were evacuated safely when the plane came into land about 25 minutes after departure. Early indications were that the aircraft suffered a bird strike but pictures show both engine covers missing, leading to speculation among pilots that the covers had not been attached properly and came off, possibly causing mechanical damage in the process.

Pez1 said on PPrune, the pilot's chat forum: "With both cowls missing from both engines, it looks like there's a strong possibility that the fan cowls weren't latched properly/if at all."

There have been previous incidents of engine covers separating from Airbus aircraft, most notably in 2004 on a Ryan International Airlines flight from Atlanta, America, to Orlando, after they weren't latched properly following maintenance, which wasn't noticed by pilots.

Tweets Reacts to Sergio Garcia's Apology to Tiger woods for 'Fried Chicken' Jab.

It's already been 10 days since Sergio Garcia accused Tiger woods of maliciously pulling a club from his bag during the Players Championship, but this feud is far from over.

Garcia made headlines upon Tuesday when he taken care of immediately a question (h/t Ewan Murray of the Guardian) posed by the Golf Channel's Steve Sands, who asked if yet have dinner with Woods within the U. S. Open.

What exactly followed could certainly be construed as racist, while using the Spaniard answering: "We will have him round every day. We will serve fried chicken. "

I apologise for any offence that appeared to be caused by my comment on stage during The Euro Tour Players' Awards dinner time. I answered a question which has been clearly made towards me as a joke with a ridiculous remark, but in no chance was the comment meant inside of a racist manner.

Tiger was clearly still upset for the situation, taking to Twitter at Wednesday morning to issue a response and scolding to this rival:

He wasn't on your own who took umbrage to your comments, as NFL. com's Ian Rapoport couldn't have an understanding of the rational behind Garcia's apology:

Godfrey, a co-host of Upload by using Shaq on Tru TELEVISION SET, believes Woods has to use the weak apology when motivation:

Cindy Boren within the Washington Post offers a particular possible, but certainly not necessarily acceptable, explanation behind why Garcia made the primary remarks.

Boren also offers in place a ridiculous situation by using Garcia claiming to wish to apologize to Woods i believe, but doesn't have his mobile phone number. If the Spaniard truly cared about making this call, he could probable acquire it.

Sergio Garcia's recent ideas was offensive and on no account aligns with TaylorMade-adidas Golf's ideals and corporate culture. We have spoken with Sergio straightaway and he clearly has got regret for his declaration and we believe she's sincere. We discussed with Sergio that his comments are clearly because of bounds and we are continuing to review the matter.

Thoughts on Federer vs Nadal final @ 2013 Rome Masters 1000.

Last five matches: 3 - 2 Nadal. Of the five matches, one was on clay rest on hard courts. Federer won 2011 WTF and 2012 Indian Wells.

Historically, Federer has not produced his best if he hasn't had a decent ramped up resistance. Conversely, Nadal has needed many such matches. If that dynamic stays true to it's history, could we be looking at a blow out?

It seems Federer needed that Nishikori defeat to shock his psyche into line. Even though he hasn't faced a bona fide player, he has maintained a consistent theme through out specially with respect to unforced errors. Nadal has fared bad in that department in each of his matches here.

Federer is three months removed from his 32nd birthday and Nadal is month away from his 27th. Even if you agree that the two numbers, in real life, cancel each other thereby producing a level playing field at least in this department, there are just way too many factors that are willing to more than compensate for that parity to, on paper, water and wind, skew the post in Nadal's favor. Duh!!!!!

Memphis Grizzlies Enter in Elite Club of Disgusting NBA Powerhouses.

Your Memphis Grizzlies defeated this Oklahoma City Thunder using a final score of 88-84 In Game 5 in the Western Conference semifinals, together with in typical "grit 'n grind" fashion, the Grizz notched their win which has a style that was far from aesthetically appealing, but still damned effective.

Memphis built only 37 percent with its shots and bumped down a grand comprehensive of three triples, but as a result of its defense, those amounts were enough.

Just by adopting and embracing some sort of brutally physical, defense-first trend, Memphis has turned itself into some rare title contenders that contains the job done without a whole lot of flair. Thinking rear on champions past, most had some kind from conventional superstar whose bright offensive skills pushed his team outrageous.

Guys like Michael Nike jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James are designed to lead their teams to help you titles. Since when does a friend or relative like Marc Gasol belong for the reason that group?

You'll want to note here that Gasol might effectively be a superstar—just not within the conventional sense. He was rightfully acknowledged the year of 2010 as the league's best defensive player and his skills as a facilitator make him one of the 10 most impactful two-way threats inside the league.

But he's not just a highlight generator and not much of what he will well is readily evident to casual viewers. He's great, but not in a fashion that syncs up with what we've grown would once seeing from the best players on championship-caliber teams.

And in a greater sense, the Grizzlies don't really make the cut to other championship organizations we've seen recently, whether. There are some elements of the 1999 San Antonio Spurs, in that , Gasol and Zach Randolph let them have a hulking tandem in advance that compares reasonably perfectly to Tim Duncan and additionally David Robinson. But at the same time, they've got elements of the 2004 Detroit Pistons, who got by with defense together with a total team approach that eschewed the idea that superstars were essential get rings.

What's interesting is of the fact that Grizzlies do share something with both of those past champions: They've found the way to generate offense to match up what they do on the defensive end of the bottom. Appropriately, though, Memphis has been using its bulk and physicality to complete the same task.

Of the teams that advanced to the conference semifinals, the Grizzlies rank first in points within the paint (41. 7 for each game), second in second-chance points (14. 7 per game) in addition to fourth in points off of turnovers (16. 2 each and every game). When you don't have a stable of reliable outside shooters or maybe a dominant wing scorer, these are the ways you must generate points.

Coupled along with the Grizzlies' incredibly low turnover level (only 11 percent health of their possessions have ended inside giveaways, which is the top figure of any postseason team), the subtle ways these people use their size and strength to maximize scoring opportunities has actually triggered an offense (104. 4 points per 100 closet in 11 playoff games) designed to have ranked among the league's top in the regular season.

The Grizzlies defend with a level that was maxed (by the slimmest of margins) during the regular season by just the Indiana Pacers. To the man, the Grizzlies take golden technologies in dominating individual matchups if it is more physical than your opponents.

Gasol and Randolph beat up Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan within the first round, and followed it up by deteriorating Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins (a physical player in her own right) in the next.

In addition, Tony Allen, Quincy Pondexter and Tayshaun Prince conspired to make Kevin Durant's semifinal set a black-and-blue nightmare. Task accomplished.

There might be several caveats to lumping the Grizzlies in while using league's best "ugly" teams usually. After all, they've feasted in the two worst-coached clubs within the 2013 postseason crop. Vinny Del Negro trotted out a lineup within the fourth quarter of some sort of elimination game that had played only a handful of minutes together during the majority.

Let's not take anything from the Grizzlies, though. They beat teams into submission over the regular season and they're doing a similar thing now.

We don't yet know whether the Grizzlies will face a Golden State Warriors or the Spurs inside Western Conference finals. But one thing's beyond doubt, Memphis' ugly effectiveness helps it be a threat to overcom absolutely anyone.

This news is particularly unwelcome to those that utilize long putters and belly putters. Rather than taking a traditional putting stroke, long and belly putters make it easy for golfers to stick the butt-end in the club into their stomachs so as to better control their move.

Adam Scott won the 2013 Masters using a long putter and she's none too pleased with the fact that he'll have to adapt over the next three years, based on Harig.

Now we're making rules to your betterment of the game influenced by zero evidence? Incredible, Scott claimed. What did they think whenever they allowed it? You're dealing with professional athletes who usually are competitive, who want to find better ways.

While Scott as well as others who have come to use anchored putting are angered from the decision, there are plenty of other golfers who are supportive of it. One of them is Padraig harrington, who has been a major opponent of anchoring, consistent with Harig.

I hope they go with the ban, Trees and shrubs said Monday. That's something I've said, that anchoring should not take part in the game. It really should be mandatory to have to help swing all 14 clubs.

Although the R& A and USGA have come to a conclusion, this certainly isn't the past we have heard for the anchoring debate. This ruling has major implications for the game of golf moving forward and it's going to be interesting to see how the players transition.

2013 Preakness Final results: Winner, Payouts and Choose of Finish.

Oxbow ran out to first place right right out of the gates, and he stored off a late cost down the stretch to be able to win the 2013 Preakness Pins. The colt won as a result of one-and-three-quarters lengths on Monday at Baltimore's Pimlico Ethnic background Course.

Despite maximum effort because of Oxbow's closest competitors on the finish, they could do not ever quite catch him. Your dog also thwarted prohibitive most loved Orb's chances at collecting the Triple Crown.

The No. 6 starting post always been magical for Gary Stevens and Oxbow, as ESPN Gambling & Info highlighted after the wire-to-wire triumph:

Trainer D. Wayne Lukas claimed his sixth career Preakness, and he set an all-time record in reference to his 14th Triple Crown triumph. Lukas is known designed for entering long shots straight into races, and fittingly that it was the least likely of his three entries that gave him his newest win.

Stevens set a moderate pace at first, and he confidently encouraged his speedy colt additionally when he saw nobody seriously challenging.

Another Hall of Recognition jockey in John Velazquez experimented with a late charge down the final stretch, but it in due course wasn't enough.

Rosie Napravnik was working to become the first women jockey to win the Preakness at the track she began the woman's career at. Unfortunately, she got jumbled in the straightaway, and she was required to split too far for the outside.

There wasn't a lot of suspense for Orb. This individual encountered traffic issues starting up at post No. 1, in addition to he recovered too tardy, ultimately finishing in suit.

Exacta: (6-9) paid off $301. 40; Trifecta: (6-9-5) paid back $2, 061. 40; $1 Superfecta: (6-9-5-1) paid $1, 087. 90.

I thought this was a thrilling showcase, and yes it was a dominant capabilities by Stevens. The 50-year-old jockey introduced for seven years prior to when saddling up with Oxbow within the Kentucky Derby, where he ran for a sixth-place effort.

Before the race, Stevens indicated to NBC's Bob Costas which he was inspired by many other aging jockey Mike Smith's success during his hiatus out of horse racing. Stevens' return was clearly worth every penny, as he won his third Preakness Stakes and captured the coveted Woodlawn Urn.

Stephen Panus logged a clever comment Lukas made following on from the race, when he certainly had no sympathy finished Orb's potential bid meant for horse racing's ultimate praise:

While some wind can be sucked out of 06 8's Belmont Stakes, Lukas and additionally Stevens don't mind. They've simply fortified their status among the finest trainers and jockeys of all time.

Stevan Jovetic: The summer months Transfer Window Profile together with Scouting Report.

Fiorentina were moments faraway from securing Champions League hockey for next season, but Milan's last-gasp triumph over Siena means the club are going to settle for the Europa Category instead. And they may be dealt with another blow come july 1st.

The Viola will possess a fight on their hands to hold their highly-rated forward Stevan Jovetic with the Artemio Franchi, who currently is being courted by various clubs across Europe following some impressive performances within the Serie A.

Now we take a look at how the former Partizan forward has performed shock as to, which clubs are queuing for his signature and then a brief scouting guide to your Montenegro striker, along by having a few details as to where he may be plying his trade next season.

CONTRACT SITUATION: Jovetic signed an alternative five-year deal in Oct 2011, and is contracted with the Italian side until summer months of 2016.

An stylish forward, Stevan Jovetic is reliant more on his complex quality than his tempo. Operating more as a second striker contrary to a lone, out-and-out frontman, this is certainly reflected in his purpose tally.

It's fair to imply he is not very as prolific as many other Serie A strikers, nevertheless he combines both innovation and finishing into her game. Jovetic likes to tumble into pockets of space and can play just off the main striker for both Fiorentina along with his country Montenegro inside "No. 10" role.

Jovetic still has three years remaining on the deal he signed in October 2011, and bring back, he has never freely stated his intention to be able to leave Florence, where he has been based the past five years.

However, the 23-year-old did a short while ago reveal he was flattered to remain linked with a move to Arsenal (Goal. com) obese Juventus also showing a long-standing interest in the talented forward (Goal. com), a move is apparently on the cards.

Obviously there are numerous hindrances which could block a move from Fiorentina; a move abroad will suit the club as good as selling to a rival such as Juventus, and despite desire from Arsenal, the player's wage demands along with the hefty fee could watch a move fall through.

In line with the Express, Manchester City were reportedly targeting Jovetic before Roberto Mancini was sacked a week ago, and although they are considered one of few who could pay the Montenegrin native, their interest could die down depending on who takes over with the Etihad Stadium.

Jovetic faces an not known summer as clubs consider their bids, but another season within Serie A and with the Europa League would do no injury to his development should no suitable offer arrive.

Trey Burke NBA Merge 2013: Measurements, Analysis in addition to Draft Projection.

Trey Burke had a terrific college basketball season at Michigan, and he is just about to take his talent on the NBA.

At the league's scouting combine, the talented point guard will not participate in drills, based on Jeff Goodman of CBS:

Then again, he can still solidify his standing as one of the top picks in the draft by successful in interviews and placing strong measurements in Chi town.

While this week is not really a make-or-break moment for ones All-American, Burke is certain to plenty of attention at this event. Here is a review of the player's profile heading into the majority of the draft season.

A lack of height belongs to the biggest things preventing Burke from being an elite point guard with the NBA. He was only ranked at 6'0" on Michigan's official website and could have been even smaller than his listing.

Fortunately, his official measurements were superior to originally thought. According so that you can Nick Baumgardner of MLive. com, the guard said that she measured at 6'1" by having a wingspan of 6'5".

Considering how well a 6'0" Chris Paul has done progressively, it is certainly possible for Burke to search for the same level of success or all around it at the following that level.

As Rob Rabjohns of Yahoo! Sports noted, there was not substantially room for Burke to enhance his stock at that combine:

The point guard is outstanding during his sophomore season for ones Wolverines, totaling 18. 6 points and 6. 7 supports per game. His contributions to the court helped him become the consensus National Player for the Year.

Of course, it was more than just his statistics which were so impressive. He was one with the quickest guards in America internet site beat almost anyone to your lane where he surely could finish at the rim. If given space, he could hit three-point shots always.

In addition, he is also a very good passer who continually created open shots for your partner's teammates. Finally, the toughness and will to win who was on display during your NCAA tournament is not something that needs to be ignored.

While he might not be an elite defender, his strength and speed will allow him to stay in front of opponents and do enough to help you his team.

There is little doubt that Burke is a top point guard to the board, but his actual draft position will be highly dependent on that lottery and team require.

If a team for example the Orlando Magic wins that lottery and decides they can need a point guard, Burke could end up being the main player selected in the whole draft. However, a very likely scenario is that Nerlens Noel and Ben McLemore go Zero. 1 and No. 2 using some order.

After that, Burke may find a spot where one is needed, which will be somewhere between the Simply no. 3 pick and that No. 10 pick.

Always, the college star will be selected at some point inside the lottery and should go on to get a very successful NBA job.

Preakness 2013 Stay Stream: Online Viewing Info and much more.

14 days ago, Orb was some fading Kentucky Derby beloved generating little hype, at least concerning the oddsmakers' choice to win the biggest horse race of the season. Now, he's the prohibitive Preakness Stakes favorite and is particularly being viewed as a serious Triple Crown threat.

After the post position draw, Orb was installed for the 1-1 morning-line favorite for any second leg of a Triple Crown. He will break from the extreme inside of a nine-horse field, which features three race horses that didn't run inside the Kentucky Derby.

Should Orb accomplish another victory, only the Belmont Limits would stand between him and the first Triple Crown considering Affirmed in 1978. Here's a glance at the viewing information to watch after his run toward history and a race preview in addition to prediction.

Not too long ago, I'll Have Another supported his Kentucky Derby win with a equally impressive showing inside Preakness Stakes. Orb hopes to repeat that accomplishment before planning home to Belmont Park in need of the Triple Crown.

The most amazing aspect of Orb's boost was how quickly your dog transformed from an also-ran towards a dominant force. He didn't break his maiden before the fourth race of your partner's career, but he is right now on a five-start receiving streak, including two upright Grade 1 victories.

At Churchill Downs a couple of weeks ago, the race lost his balance perfectly for Orb. The unsustainable early schedule eliminated multiple top race horses from contention and allowed him running past nearly the entire field with a perfectly timed late cost.

The early pace will as just stated be a critical thing. Two horses in the race, Goldencents and Itsmyluckyday, showed off good speed within the derby. But they went way too hard ., too soon and weren't in a position to sustain it for their own entire trip.

Those horses can be much bigger threats to help Orb if things log off to a more reasonable start in the second leg. It's up to jockeys Kevin Krigger (Goldencents) together with John Velazquez (Itsmyluckyday) to verify their horses have something left for any stretch.

The most intriguing discover that didn't run with the derby is Departing. He's won four of six career starts. His latest victory came in the Illinois Derby last month, which was a strong bounce-back performance from third-place showing in your Louisiana Derby.

Departing's winning amount of time in his last start has been a shade under 1: 51 and then a fraction better than Orb's winning amount of time in the Florida Derby, one more time he raced within the distance. So he's featured the potential recommended to pull off the upset and is particularly working with a pair extra weeks of rest.

Ultimately, however, Orb is the rightful heavy favorite. His run in the Kentucky Derby showed he's peaking for the right time and need plenty of energy allowed to remain. He actually won this first race on two weeks of rest, so that really should not an issue.

Just about every 2013 NHL Playoff Team's Most Impressive Statistic.

The Boston Bruins head the 2013 playoffs in many different statistical categories. David Krejci is a leading scorer; Nathan Horton maintain a pool of top plus/minus. The Bruins lead this league in faceoff percentage and hits and were the initial team to seven gains all the perks.

Most impressively, they've won the first three games of their series against the New York Rangers using three rookie defensemen inside the lineup.

Injuries to vital veterans Dennis Seidenberg, John Ference and Wade Redden compelled Claude Julien to available Round 2 with first-year members Dougie Hamilton, Matt Bartkowski and Torey Krug patrolling a back corner end. Hamilton was pretty much a veteran after 44 regular-season games, but Krug was the newborn child of the family by using just three games from NHL experience.

No matter. All three youngsters need performed impressively, and Krug comes with three points in her three playoff games.

Fluto Shinzawa for the Boston Globe reports that this rookies' fine play helps keep them in the group for Game 4, allowing the injured veterans additional time to heal.

Wayne Rooney: Where Would Manchester United Striker Integrate at Chelsea?

Move sagas traditionally dominate summers bereft associated with international action, and the coming months will be no different.

Gareth Bale and Orlando Benteke signing new contracts with the respective clubs will disappoint the country's media, but the Wayne Rooney discussion is definite to keep the reports ticking over.

Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that Manchester United had rejected a transfer get from Rooney following your partner's non-appearance against Swansea, and now The Mirror believe Chelsea tend all in for your ex.

Mourinho would love to handle Rooney. He thinks he might get him back to this best and use him in a similar fashion to how Didier Drogba controlled for Chelsea.

It seems almost set for the Manchester United stalwart to leave the club this summer, and with it becoming his second transfer get, the club would be a good idea to move him on.

They're facing a hard summer following the journeying of SAF, and incoming David Moyes systematically sued Rooney for above £500, 000 worth of damages or injuries for libel following comments inside player's autobiography back within 2008.

Right from the heli-copter flight relationship is frictious, and moving the player on would generate a much easier first summer the boss at the biggest club on the globe.

Chelsea are one on the select group of clubs which will compete with and match the £250, 000-per-week Rooney pulls in and have absolutely the profile and group to appease his standards.

Rooney's future at Manchester United seemed more and more likely to be in central midfield being the season wore on, and just by numerous player comments, he wasn't exactly delighted about that.

No doubt, his Virtually no. 1 priority when negotiating with other clubs is the prerequisite of him playing being striker, and Chelsea just so happen to enjoy a question mark in this position.

The Mirror's aforementioned source suggests Rooney may be Chelsea's next Didier Drogba, and that expected manager Jose Mourinho would enjoy coax the best right out of the England international.

The Blues' legendary striker will often put the company on his back and carry them up the field, and while they use a (physically) similar player to help him in Romelu Lukaku in the books, it's clear Mourinho isn't able to hang his hat upon him.

Further reports of Mourinho's curiosity about taking Napoli hitman Edinson Cavani to help Chelsea have abounded (via A Guardian), and these prolonged links spell bad current information for Lukaku and Fernando Torres.

A tough-tackling defensive midfielder has emerged as a need for Chelsea, nonetheless a dynamic, attacking is attempting not given the transformation of David Luiz in addition to extended contract of Frank Lampard.

If Rooney joins Chelsea it's going to on his own terms, and those terms are going to be mega wages combined with a assured position of striker.

Would Chelsea fans like to see Rooney lead a line, or see Lukaku given the opportunity to become the next Drogba alternatively?

Winnipeg Jets Contract Week: What is actually Bryan Little worth?

The Winnipeg Jets present an interesting off-season upcoming when it comes to their pending unrestricted and additionally restricted free agents.

Little has primarily trialled first line center with the Jets 2. 0 by using both Andrew Ladd in addition to Blake Wheeler on her wings. Little is rapidly, albeit undersized, with their game slanted more on the way to scoring goals than setting them up.

The former 1st round variety of the Atlanta Thrashers is now completing the final period of his second skilled contract; a contract that will paid Little $7. 15 million over three years (the 2010-11, 2011-12, together with 2012-13 NHL seasons. )

The cap hit that Little carried with the just completed three 12 months contract was $2. 37 million per season. Still, it is important to make note of that in the previous year of Little's contract, the 2012-13 NHL time of year, Little's actual salary has been $3. 0 million.

The old Collective Bargaining Binding agreement (the new CBA has yet to remain officially completed and released—but all indications are that clause will remain the same) sets forth that with the Winnipeg Jets to support the contract rights to Bryan Little, they would have to help you qualify him at an annual salary of $3. 0 k. This does not mean that Little has to acknowledge the qualifying offer (although bigger that option), but if he diminishes the qualifying offer (which is quite likely in this instance), a Jets, by virtue with offering him the getting qualified offer of $3. 0 thousand thousand, would retain his contractual rights.

For the purposes about this article, we will assume that your Jets will submit the qualifying offer to Little and he'll not accept the make available. As such, he can be a restricted free adviser (Group 2 free agent—clause 10. 2(b) associated with former CBA), and several options will present themselves on the Winnipeg Jets to get Bryan Little.

If the Jets opt to open negotiations so that they can re-sign Bryan Little, the organization might examine Little's production and progression for an NHL player.

As about this writing, Bryan Little is 25 years old and will be 26 this upcoming Don't forget national. He has just accumulated his sixth NHL season meaning that his first opportunity designed for unrestricted free agency would come after the 2013-14 season.

At this point in his career, and for the 1st time, Bryan Little has certain leverage in contract negotiations. Accordingly, he can lead his career, in regardless which direction he deems perfect.

If Little believes that she will make way more as an unrestricted free agent within just over a year's time, he could elect to file for salary arbitration, a right he holds beneath the CBA, and accept a good one-year contract. In much the same vein, he can make an attempt to reach agreement on a 12 months contract with the Winnipeg Aircraft, without having to have the frequently adversarial arbitration journey.

Alternatively, Little can look for ways to sign a three or four-year deal that can take him to your partner's 30 year old year or so. A contract in excess of about years seems unlikely for the player who has hardly ever eclipsed 0. 73 points-per-game.

So, let us assume with the purposes of this report that Little is serious about signing a a few year contract with this Winnipeg Jets.

Various players have produced very much the same numbers to Little. Undoubtedly of those comparable players and their respective production:

Most of the above players are heart, at least for just about the most part—as Steen does play some wing to boot. Their statistical production and use is kind of similar to that involving Little.

There is a bit of fluctuation with respect to the above players and their salaries, but more and also less, this is several players that are earning second-line center money.

The Jets have Mark Scheifele within the queue, but aside with Scheifele, the team is pretty thin when it comes to centres. Olli Jokinen is coming off an unusually poor season and Alexander Burmistrov, like Little, is a restricted free agent, with some sort of uncertain status. If the team appears to be to trade Little they'll likely would likely have to acquire a centre, if not in substitution for Little, then in another trade or via a free agent signing.

This really an unlikely option. Draft picks are a very important currency in today's gameplay and a team will have to overpay in terms involving both salary and draft picks to be able to sign Little to an offer sheet that Jets would decline to enhance (as is their prerogative, having given him a qualifying offer first of the free-agency period of time. ) It's also worth noting a team needs to own the right draft picks for you to even sign a player to an offer sheet.

Finding an actual value for Bryan Little is definitely interesting exercise in that will, given the role she has been used in through the Winnipeg Jets the prior two seasons, Bryan Little's agent will definitely argue that his client is often a bona-fide first-line center in the NHL and deserves some sort of contract, at least, around $4. 0 million for season.

From the Jets perspective, it is likely which Kevin Cheveldayoff's intention is always to sign Bryan Little to your contract that will make it possible for Little to eventually slot in for the team's number two target, and at a rate that could be commensurate for a next line centre.

Little's group will propose something like the following: Five years for $20. 26 million ($4. 25 k cap hit per season)

Cheveldayoff and his management team will likely propose something like this approach: Three years for $10. 5 thousand thousand ($3. 5 million restrict hit per season)

Let's assume that both parties understand or know that they do need each other somewhat. The Jets, offered their dearth of shelving units, need one that might produce offensively. From Little's mindset, he is getting an exceptional opportunity and showcase, lining on a top line involving Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler—an opportunity that he may not come all over elsewhere.

With all of the different factors in your thoughts, a contract with the following terms seems most competitive given the circumstances:

Borussia Dortmund's stadium has home and away jail cells - Yahoo! Canada Sports (blog)

With Real Madrid facing Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semifinals, Spanish sports paper Marca decided to take a tour of the German club's Westfalenstadion in order to learn a bit more about the opposition. The thing they found most intriguing about the notoriously loud ground? The two jail cells reserved for matchday troublemakers.

One of the most curious things about the home to Borussia Dortmund is located in the north end of the stadium, where less than 15 metres from the stand there is a small police station with two prison cells - one for the home fans (on the right) and one for the away fans (on the left). "We made two in order to avoid any scuffles between the opposing fans" MARCA was told by a guide at the German stadium.

Each cell can hold up to 130 brawlers and/or drunks. They are soundproof to ensure the people they hold are truly being punished by not being able to hear what's going on with the day's match.

West Bromwich Albion 1 Newcastle United 1 fit report: Alan Pardew blames... - The Independent

Newcastle United remain moving their solution to Premier League safety but for Alan Pardew, there's already one simple, three-word riposte to any complaint of a dismal domestic campaign: the Europa League. For Pardew, last year's reward for completing fifth demonstrated a decidedly mixed blessing, and after his team tucked two areas to 16th a and below Sunderland a on Saturday, he spoke once more concerning the requirements of a competition which added 14 matches to their calendar and, in his view, expanded his group to breaking point. "This was our 50th sport today, which moves a little bit unnoticed," said the Newcastle manager, who was missing a handful of first-teamers at the Hawthorns. "With all of the travelling involved as well, that is hard. Because it is not merely the extra games but the accidents we have had on the rear of that, clubs can look at us and the effect it may have. There is undoubtedly that our league place would be better [without it]." A combat relegation was certainly not on the plan when Pardew signed that remarkable eight-year deal last September and cynics may say he is getting his explanations in early in case the impossible occurs, however he added: "We experienced to cover much charge on the Sundays, not just for Sunderland but for previous games. Swansea are likely to discover that next year a' it's difficult, if you don't actually boost the size of one's squad." Pardew isn't alone in stating the traces of Thursday-Sunday baseball, however Newcastle did increase five players with their group in January a' certainly one of whom, left-back Massadio Haidara, made his full league debut here a' and enjoyed only two games in the domestic cup games. More over, his critics will point out a time without a goal from a large part and an away record that is the next worst in the department, with just eight items from 17 matches. In this context, Pardew described the idea derived from Saturday's 1-1 draw with West Brom as "gold dust", though it would have now been three had Newcastle taken their probabilities in a one-sided first half. Rather their visibility gave an individual Yoan Gouffran hit and they were called in the second time when Albion, with a transition to a top three, responded with Billy Jones' first purpose for the team. Ironically, given Pardew's claims, his counterpart Steve Clarke thought his own side's not enough activities a' it was only their next in 35 days a' discussed their slow start. Written down, the danger of the drop remains moderate for Newcastle however while six items separate them from third-bottom Wigan, the Lancashire membership have a game in hand and Pardew is getting nothing for granted given journeys to West Ham and QPR remain, bookended by home games with Liverpool and Arsenal. "Not a good win against Liverpool would make us safe," he warned. "We continue to be fighting for the lives. We've got to fight like this for the remaining four. I'm not being comfortable, and I'm definitely not being arrogant about it. We have still got work to do."

World’s Longest-Serving Bat Boy Has Been At It For 55 Years (And Counting)

The University of Memphis takes the term 'bat boy' to a ridiculous extreme. Here's Stan Bronson Jr., 84, who has been on the job for the Tigers' baseball team since 1958. Yep, he's celebrating 55 years as the team's bat boy, which makes him the longest-serving person in that position in the world, ever. The Guinness Book of World Records says so, so it must be true.

During Bronson's first season as bat boy at Memphis, Stan Musial and Ted Williams were playing in the major leagues. The Russians launched Sputnik 1 that year. Chess champion Bobby Fischer was 14 years old. You get the idea.

Bronson, who has a learning disability, mild palsy and a speech impediment, has never been paid by the University. His medical needs are attended to by the team trainers, he has a lifetime pass to the university cafeteria, and his late mother, Irma, left him the family house in a trust.

"I remember his mother telling us one time, that when Stan was a very young child, that the family physician told her that Stan's life expectancy would be eight or nine years," said [Memphis associate athletic director Bob] Winn. "We think, really, quite frankly, that athletics has kept Stan alive and going."

In an interview recently on NPR, Bronson said that he came to Memphis in 1958 after being fired from the athletics department at Rhodes College.

"Coach Murphy tells the story that Stan said, 'I need a job,'" recounted longtime Memphis associate athletic director Bob Winn. "Coach Murphy said, 'Well, son, I'm sorry but I don't have money in my budget to pay for anybody else. And Stan said, 'Don't need money. Need a job.'"

Inspiring story and all, but shouldn't the university have been paying him something along the way? Last year the team held a fundraiser to help with Bronson's future medical costs (he has no medical insurance, and is not on social security, since he's never worked). And recently they retired his number.

2nd-Round Condensation Prospects Guaranteed to Attention the Detroit Pistons.

Inside 2013 NBA draft, the Detroit Pistons should have the No. 8 pick with the second round. Players available that late rarely end up All-Stars, but the Pistons should be able to find a player that can play valuable minutes inside their rotation next season.

The Pistons must upgrade their starters in the wing, but they ought to find reliable backups at point guard and inside frontcourt. Here is one footballer at each position of the fact that Pistons should strongly consider drafting inside the second round.

The Pistons only get two players under contract that will play point guard, Brandon Dark night and Rodney Stuckey, and additionally both struggle running a great offense.

Kabongo's draft stock dropped a tad after he was suspended to your first 23 games of the 2012-13 season, but there is no question that he is mostly a very talented player. As soon as he was eligible, they led the Longhorns around scoring (14. 6), supports (5. 5) and steals (2. 0) in addition to was second in rebounding (5. 0).

One is on the small side, measuring just 6'1" and 180 pounds within the combine, but he makes up get rid of with great quickness and enable you to finish in traffic. Enjoy Texas head coach Rick Barnes break down Kabongo's ability to finish on the fast break:

Kabongo in addition has shown a willingness to get results on the defensive close, something that not many young guards have. Which, combined with his ability to run an offense, will make Kabongo a solid backup point guard right now.

If the Pistons don't get a chance to draft Victor Oladipo or Ben McLemore in the first round, they would be incredibly happy to discover Michigan's Tim Hardaway Jr .. fall to them with the second round. Hardaway has the talent to be a first-round pick, but it is not even close to a lock at now. ESPN's Chad Ford has got him ranked No. 34 on his current big board.

Hardaway can score in a number of ways, has NBA three-point range is a solid athlete. He was the second-best player on the Michigan team that lost with the NCAA championship game and allows NBA pedigree, as your partner's dad (Tim Hardaway Sr. ) ended up being a five-time All-Star.

Scouts worry that Hardaway is simply not elite at any ingredient of the game, and that he is shorter than a prototypical shooting guard (he good 6'4. 5" at that combine).

Regardless, Hardaway offers the talent and athleticism to get, at the minimum, a valuable role player on the wing to your Pistons. With more look into defense, Hardaway could develop into a starter ultimately.

Small forward is another position the place that the Pistons desperately need to add talent. Reggie Bullock from Vermont could become a sturdy 'three and D" player for the Pistons on the side.

Bullock became a rather effective shooter during your partner's three seasons at Nc. He shot 48. 3 percent with the field and 43. 6 because of behind the arc around his junior year. He also turned out to be an effective rebounder, averaging 6. 5 per game.

He is a great athlete, but, like many other second-round prospects, Bullock is short with regard to his position (he measured under 6'6" for the combine).

Bullock's offensive game isn't as versatile as Hardaway's, but they have better range. His shooting alone enables him to find playing time with an NBA roster from Day 1.

The Pistons already get Greg Monroe at electricity forward, but they have little or no depth in the frontcourt. M. J. Leslie from North Carolina State has the capacity to play as an undersized stretch-4 inside the NBA.

Measuring 6'7. 5" within the combine, Leslie is a classic "tweener. " He has elite athleticism and may rebound the ball (he averaged over seven in every one of his three seasons in N. C. State), but at just 209 pounds he won't be capable of guard bruising power forwards within the post.

With two true low-post players on the roster, Leslie could be a great change-of-pace player heli-copter flight bench for the Pistons. He could also be very useful against teams similar to the Houston Rockets and Denver colorado Nuggets that consistently work with small-ball lineups.

There will be very few legitimate big men available in the second round with this year's draft. Lucas Nogueira from Brazil is one of them.

Nogueira is a very raw prospect and contains little offensive talent, but he has the potential to become a difference-maker on the defensive end.

Nogueira is listed at 6'11" and 218 pounds by having a 7'5" wingspan. He can be clearly very thin meant for his position, but that could be something that many international prospects address once they reach the NBA.

The Pistons already have Andre Drummond as their starting center of the future, but Nogueira has more potential than any major man available this late with the draft.

Nogueira has excellent potential for a rim protector at your NBA level, and even though he is stashed with regard to another season or two -- she's under contract with Estudiantes until 2014 -- there are few defenders like him within this draft.

At this point within their rebuilding process, the Pistons have more pressing needs than a backup center and will almost certainly want a player which can be on the roster the following fall. However, Nogueira could be very valuable later on in life.

JR Smith Says He Wants to Retire with New York Knicks After Playoff Exit

Fresh off of a truly abysmal performance in the New York Knicks' Eastern Conference semifinal defeat to the Indiana Pacers, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year told reporters that he'd kind of like to stick around the Big Apple for a while:

Smith will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, so he'll have a few options. But with the way he finished out his playoff run with the Knicks, it's hard to imagine that his employer is as jazzed about his potential return (and apparent desire to stay put for a long time) as he seems to be.

The Knicks certainly aren't laughing about Smith's horrendous offensive showing against the Pacers, but that doesn't mean the rest of us have to clam up. After all, making jokes at the expense of others is sort of what Twitter is for, isn't it?

Seriously, though, the Knicks are really going to have to figure out whether Smith's production is worth the headache of his inconsistency. When Smith catches fire, he's capable of taking over games. But as an overall asset, he's basically a one-dimensional scorer who gets his points in an extremely inefficient way. Just try to guess which game this tweet came from:

It's tough, right? Really, it could have been from almost any contest that involved Smith. Horrible shooting performances are that common for him. Worse still, he almost never stops shooting, no matter how cold he gets. Knicks coach Mike Woodson has to sit him down in order for there to be a cease fire.

Maybe Smith will be back with the Knicks. If he is, it'll signal that New York hasn't yet realized that low-percentage, high-volume offensive players were part of the problem with the team this year.

It's cool that Smith is professing his loyalty after a loss, but it's hard to imagine that the Knicks are feeling the same love right now.

The united kingdom Manager Roy Hodgson Criticizes Chelsea, Person City and Spurs meant for Post-Season Tours.

Britain manager Roy Hodgson shows that Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur need "scotched" England's friendlies by way of scheduling post-season friendlies in the country and, in Tottenham's claim, The Bahamas.

"My thinking, which is based considerably on having been a club manager, is that they'll probably want a few days after the season comes to an end, they won't want to travel straight from the end of the season to us, so let them contain a week and then we'll keep them each week and then they're cost-free.

"So we've been scotched some more by the teams who went on long close-season tourdates. It's made in particular the primary match (against Ireland at Wembley) some more difficult because some within the players will only have been back a few days when we've got to play along with we're scotched in that all the teams have decided to go far west to Usa and Bahamas, so they're going backward and forward on these long the selected profession. But that's again the problem we find ourselves within. We can't dictate to help clubs what they undertake. "

Chelsea plays Manchester Town in St Louis and The big apple on May 23 along with 25, while Tottenham plays a in The Bahamas concerning May 23. In that Chelsea-Manchester City friendlies, a lot of England players including Later on Hart, James Milner, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole may feature for a club team. Tottenham, relationship, may play England's Kyle Runner and Jermain Defoe.

Following Premier League games the following Sunday, the players will happen to be the western hemisphere, thereafter back again to England to play for a national team. And then they'll be required to fly to Brazil prior to when their June 2nd hospitable before returning to england once again.

Coach Chris Petersen's 3 Biggest Challenges for any Boise State Broncos in 2013.

The Broncos incorporate some very good starters re-occurring in 2013. Quarterback Joe Southwick and nearly all of his receivers are back, as are a few key linemen as well as a backup running back inside Jay Ajayi who seems like he is preparing to start.

On defense, there are actually bigger questions marks. Cornerback is populated by a gaggle of young players with only one moderate amount of taking part in time, and the defensive tier is down one good player.

When Boise State announced it had kicked commencing defensive end Sam Ukwuachu away from the team for an unspecified reason, more than a small number of Broncos fans were let down. But not in Private coach Petersen. Coach Pete has shown year after year that he will never compromise his standards.

Kharyee Marshall has to be able step up to your Broncos, but with injuries in his history, it can be hard to say how effective he's going to be long term. Sam McCaskill is often a 6'3", 246-pound redshirt freshman who can also step up.

When you look up and down the Boise State roster, the majority of the starting spots have good players relating to the list. However, many for the backups are not validated, and injuries or suspensions may possibly effect the Broncos in a very big way as the summer season progresses.

Head coach Chris Petersen saw that same kind of trouble last season when ever some key players on defense took place with injuries. It hindered the things that his team wanted to undertake and arguably was an ellement in the loss to North park State. Which, realistically, kept the Broncos straight from the BCS.

You have to trust Coach Petersen is concerned about depth over anything as well in 2013. Will he have a plan? Will backups improve when needed?

Call me anything you want... just not 'Boss' - Fergie tells United players to ... - Daily Mail

Sir Alex Ferguson has told his players they can call him all the names under the sun - but never to refer to him as 'boss' again.

The Scot took charge of his final game as manager of Manchester United on Sunday as his Premier League champions were held to a thrilling 5-5 draw by West Brom at the Hawthorns.

And the 71-year-old, who made the speech just hours before the news of his retirement was made public, was at pains to ensure his replacement - Everton boss David Moyes - has the respect of the dressing room.

'You've been fantastic servants to me. We've achieved some great things,' Ferguson told his players, reports The Sun.

He declared himself satisfied with the 2003 Chateau Pontet Canet, bought especially for the occasion, with West Brom boss Steve Clarke delighted it did Ferguson justice.

The post-match drink followed a staggering game, as United cruised into a 3-0 lead, and then 5-2, before being pegged back by a dogged West Brom side, who salvaged a 5-5 draw.

It was the first time a United team had drawn by such a score since Newton Heath were held by Lincoln in 1895. It was also the highest scoring draw in the Premier League era.

Earlier, the Scot was given a guard of honour from both teams and a rapturous ovation from the fans as he walked on to the pitch at The Hawthorns.

It didn't take long for Ferguson's team to go in front as Shinji Kagawa opened the scoring in the sixth minute, before a Jonas Olsson own goal three minutes later gave Manchester United a 2-0 lead.

Alexander Buttner made it 3-0 for United after half an hour but James Morrison pulled one back for the hosts just before half time.

Romelu Lukaku then scored minutes after the break to spark hopes of a West Brom comeback, but Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez extended United's lead.

Amazingly, West Brom pulled it back to 5-5 with four minutes remaining through two goals from Lukaku and one from Youssouf Mulumbu.

There was a feverish atmosphere outside the ground prior to the match with souvenir scarves and programmes selling rapidly.

One cunning fan incredibly snapped up 700 of the special edition programmes at a cost of £2,800.At 144 pages, the programme, selling at £4 each, is the biggest ever produced for a domestic fixture in England.

Twenty thousand copes were printed, 17,500 more than the amount produced for West Brom's home fixture against Wigan two weeks ago.

Another supporter purchased 300 copies for £1,200, which means that one twentieth of the total editions printed are in the hands of two people.

Bulls-Heat series even, and tensions rising

MIAMI (AP) — Carlos Boozer said the Chicago Bulls were feeling cheated. Mario Chalmers said the Miami Heat thought they were getting too many cheap shots.

Ray Allen scored 21 points in less than 19 minutes off the bench, LeBron James scored all 19 of his points in the first half and the Heat led by as many as 46 on the way to a wild, whistle-filled 115-78 win over the Bulls in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinal matchup on Wednesday night. The series is tied at a game apiece and shifts to Chicago for Game 3 on Friday night.

"We did a pretty good job of just staying the course," James said. "We just came in with a mindset to be aggressive and play our game. With everything that was going on, we just tried to keep our composure."

Of course, when you're winning by 46, it's easy to stay composed — though for most of the first half, a runaway game seemed highly unlikely.

The first hard foul of the night came 12 seconds into the game, when Udonis Haslem collided with Nate Robinson and sent the diminutive Bulls guard crashing to the hardwood. Marco Belinelli retaliated with a healthy smack against Dwyane Wade nine seconds later, and the Heat guard picked up the first of nine technical fouls in the game.

Six of those technicals went against the Bulls, including two each for Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson, who both departed angrily with 10:13 remaining. At least one fan directed an obscene gesture toward Noah as he left, and television cameras caught Gibson using plenty of inappropriate language before he retreated out of sight for the rest of the night.

"This hardly happens to me," Gibson said. "It's a sign of frustration. We just got blown out. You don't want to get blown out."

Robinson and Marquis Teague also got technicals for Chicago. For Miami, Wade, James and Chalmers all got assessed technicals, and Chris Andersen was called for a flagrant foul.

"Things don't go your way, you're competitors, you want to go out there and do everything you can when you feel you're being cheated," Boozer said. "You're going to say something about it. But regardless we don't place the blame on anybody else, we put it on our shoulders and we'll play better."

The Bulls shot just under 36 percent, while Miami connected on 60 percent of its shots. Chicago was outrebounded 41-28, a big shift from Game 1, when the Bulls were dominant on the glass. And other stats were unfathomably bad: The Bulls were outscored by huge margins in bench points (55-25), fast-break points (20-2) and points off turnovers (28-7).

Still, the Bulls got a split in Miami. Home-court advantage in this series is theirs, and that surely will help them turn the page quickly from Wednesday's debacle.

"We didn't play well, but it's not the end of the world," Noah said. "It's 1-1, and it's going to be a big game in Chicago."

Norris Cole scored 18 points for Miami, which got 15 from Wade and 13 from Chris Bosh. Belinelli scored 13 for the Bulls, who got 12 from Noah and 11 from Robinson.

By the time the game was 15½ minutes old, there were five technicals called, though nothing really escalated to the point of being out of hand — it was more mouth-running than anything else. And with 3:42 left in the half, Chicago's Jimmy Butler converted a sensational, acrobatic layup while being fouled, adding the free throw to cap a three-point play that cut Miami's lead to 42-38.

Game 1 was a grind-it-out affair that Chicago dominated late on its way to victory. At that point, Game 2 was looking like it would go to the wire as well.

Butler's highlight-reel play was officially the last highlight for the Bulls all night. Over the next 19 minutes — barely more than a quarter and a half — the Heat would outscore the Bulls 62-20.

Yes, 62-20. And James, the now four-time MVP, scored only three of those 62 points. Everyone was getting in the act.

"We are going to have to fight for every win," Wade said. "And tonight, we did a good job in the beginning of the game of setting the tone."

By the time the barrage was over, it was 104-58 Miami, and that happened not long after Chalmers got a technical in the third quarter, then Noah and Gibson earned their ejections early in the fourth.

"We got sidetracked and you can't do that," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said. "We allowed frustration to carry over to the next play. ... You come in here, you're not going to get calls. That's reality."

Oh, they got calls, just not the calls they wanted. Noah made sure the officiating crew knew his thoughts before he departed.

Even TNT announcer Steve Kerr, a former Bulls player, questioned the officiating at that point, as replays of a borderline goaltending call that he thought should have gone Chicago's way were shown.

Wade said losing Game 1 was Miami's first true taste of adversity all season, and he was eager to see how the Heat responded. He said the team simply looked itself in the mirror and challenged itself to do better.

NOTES: Butler's streak of consecutive minutes played ended when he took a seat 12 seconds into the second quarter. He logged more than 160 consecutive minutes. ... The Heat were 9 for 18 from 3-point range. ... Miami's biggest postseason win had been a 35-point victory over Orlando on April 24, 1997. ... Allen was 10 for 10 from the foul line and hasn't missed in 25 attempts from there in the playoffs. ... The Bulls' worst playoff loss had been 26 points, against Cleveland on May 21, 1992.
