DUBLIN (AP) a Pat McQuaid's nomination by Cycling Ireland to mean a term as head of the sport's world governing body is usually to be re-considered. The UCI leader has been under pressure since details emerged of organized doping by Lance Armstrong to get seven Tour de France titles. But McQuaid received the nomination after pledging to change the UCI. However, Cycling Ireland says its board could hold an urgent situation general meeting at a romantic date to be determined "to consider issues that have developed following decision taken at its board meeting on April 12th to nominate Mr. Pat McQuaid." Cycling Ireland chief executive Geoff Liffey says details of the conference will undoubtedly be distributed to member groups next week.
