Mario Williams Suing Former FiancAe over 10-Carat Engagement Ring

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams may be entering the 2nd year of a, $96 million agreement in 2013, but at this time, he's a whole lot more focused on $785,000. Based on the Buffalo News' Dan Herbeck, Williams has filed case against his ex-fiancAe, Erin Marzouki, in Houston'sAHarris County CourtAto obtain a 10-carat engagement ring he gave to her when suggesting. Williams alleges in his lawsuit that Marzouki never desired to marry him and only employed him for his money. a( Marzouki) never meant to marry (Williams) and used the relationship as a means to access (Williamsa) money and obtain gifts,a said the suit (per the Houston Chronicle). The litigation also claims that Williams and Marzouki had a contract in place that if the engagement were called off, she'd return the ring. Marzouki supposedly called off the engagement in January after receiving the ring in February 2012. From a legal sense, Texas is just a no-fault state for items like wedding rings. Meaning the person giving the band is officially permitted to request its returnAaon breach of the marriage proposal by the donee,a per Herbeck. Williams' attorneys noted that the Bills defensive end has a "right to recovery" in regards to the high priced bit of jewelry. While Williams is clearly involved first and foremost with getting his ring right back, the response elsewhere about this story was about the stone rock's excessive price. ESPN's Darren Rovell noted that Williams used three % of original guaranteed money Buffalo gave him on that ring: CBS Sports' Doug Gottlieb was perplexed by Williams staying with a rule generally reserved for more modest-earning families: If that was not enough, Williams' match also alleges Marzouki ran up $108,000 on an American Express charge card and that he spent another $230,000 on her in other gifts. Even when Williams struggles to recover the ring, all is not lost economically for the 28-year-old. He's due a base salary of $6.5 million for 2013 and is under contract for a lot more excessive salaries going forward. A two-time Pro Bowler, Williams completed last period with 46 fights and 10.5 sacks, whilst the Bills went 6-10. There's no word from Marzouki or her solicitors regarding the case.
